Invictus is an alternate history setting within the Commonwealth of Sovereign States. It features a map of the real world set in the near future, a geopolitical landscape marked by a cold war between two alliances, and a multipolar world order. Invictus is the spiritual successor to the Azure-Watester Federation, and posesses a rich but dynamic history based partly off of the world and history of the AWF. While the world of Invictus corresponds to the Earth, it is significantly different in many respects as a consequence of the alternate path of history.

The major alliances currently active on the world stage are the Atlantic Security Treaty, the Althior Accords, the Union of Victory, the Co-Prosperity Sphere, and the German Confederation.
